All vows and oaths we take, all promises
and obligations make to God between this
Yom Kippur and the next we publicly retract
in the event that we should forget them,
and hereby declare our intention to be
absolved from them.

Sh'ma koleinu Adonai Eloheinu chus v'rachem aleinu,
v'kabel berachamim u-veratzon et tefilateinu.
Hashiveinu Adonai elecha v'nashuvah chadesh yameinu kekedem.

Hear our voices, Adonai our God, pity us; save us,
and accept our prayer with compassion and kindness.
Help us, Adonai, to return to You; renew us as in days of old.

Adonai, Adonai el rachum v’chanun
Erekh apa’yim v’rav chesed ve’emet;
No’tseir chesed la’alafim,
no’sei avon va-fesha
v’chata'ah v’na’keh.

Adonai, God, loving and gracious, patient,
and abundant in kindness and truth;
keeping mercy to the thousandth generation,
forgiving sin and rebellion
and transgression, making pure.

V'al kulam Eloha s'lichot
s'lach lanu,
m'chal lanu,
kaper lanu.

For all these, God of forgiveness,
forgive us,
pardon us,
grant us atonement.

Ki anu amekha v'atah Eloheinu.
Anu vanekha v'atah avinu.
Anu avadekha v'atah adoneinu;
Anu kehalekha v'atah chelkeinu.
Anu nachalatekha v'atah goraleinu.
Anu tzonekha v'atah ro´einu.
Anu charmekha v'atah notreinu.
Anu f´ulatekha v'atah yotzreinu.
Anu r'aiatekha v'atah dodeinu.
Anu segulatekha v'atah k'roveinu.
Anu amekha v'atah malkeinu.
Anu ma´amirekha v'ata ma´amireinu.

For we are Your people and You are our God;
We are Your children and You are our parent.

Unetanah tokef k'dushet hayom ki hu noreh v'ayom,
v'kahl-ba'ay olam ya'avrun l'fanekha kivnai maron.
B'rosh hashanah yikateivun uv'yom tzom kipur yechatemun...
... uteshuvah utefilah utzedakah ma'avirin et ro'a hagezerah.

Now, we declare the sacred power of this day.
which is the most awsome and solemn of days.
On Rosh Hashanah it is written
and on Yom Kippur it is sealed...
... But repentance, prayer and righteousness
avert the severe decree.
