The Tikkun Olam/Repairing the World Committee is devoted to repairing the world through political and social action in as many different ways as possible, working with as many different congregants as possible to make our world healthier, safer, and more just for everyone.

Here are some of the things our committee has done in the past year:

• Staffing a kitchen for hungry Lansing residents every other month (and preparing box lunches every month during the COVID crisis)
• Organizing book clubs for older children and adults on racial justice and antiracism
• Holding a back-to-school brunch/school supplies drive for children at the Refugee Development Center
• Running in a 5K to support Cristo Rey Community Center
• Baking and selling hamantaschen and other Purim treats to raise funds for gun violence prevention
